What exactly does the Six of Pentacles Tarot Card Mean?
Well, well! I love when I draw the Six of Pentacles card for a client. It means that, whether they know it or not, the Universe is conspiring to give them a gift! And that gift is usually comes in the form of material gain. Think scholarship, unexpected dividend from your company or an inheritance from a distant relative. And all that the Six of Pentacles requires, in order to ease along the arrival, is to express gratitude and make a gift of service. Now, you'd think everyone I explained this to would jump up and down in thanks and get down to their local animal shelter to sign up for a shift, right? Nope! You would not BELIEVE how difficult is some for folks to believe that they have anything to be grateful for, so they can't possibly comprehend or commit to making a gift of service. Thus, they end up blocking the flow of abundance that the Universe wanted to trickle down them It blows me away every time.
Six of Pentacles Tarot Card Meaning
In the traditional Waite-Smith deck, we see a wealthy noble who appears to give alms to the poor, measuring out his gift of gold coins on a golden scale. Above him we see six gold coins floating unnoticed in the air. This card symbolizes the importance of showing generosity to others as well as gratitude for what you have been given already. It also speaks to being generous with your time, money or knowledge to help those less fortunate. At this time of year it's especially important to remember that even if you don't consider yourself "wealthy or prosperous" yourself, the Six of Pentacles means that you can still attract and manifest the wealth you want, by doing a sincere act of service, like supporting local charities and non-profits. These acts can be a small as donating gently used clothing to a shelter, to the grand and magnanimous, like dropping a 200% tip on your yearly Brownie troop for this years cookie order.
Earth Energy ⚡️🌍
This pentacles card is associated with the element Earth. Earth energy invites us to ground and enjoy stability. In the Tarot, the Suit of Pentacles is associated with the physical world, the material world of money, gain and acquisition, as well as the body. To me, touch is always the simplest, yet most wonderful and intimate way to initiate and inculcate connection with Earth. As a Fire sign (Leo Sun, Mars and Mercury) grounding for me is always challenging. But when we connect with Earth energy (for me it's putting my feet on grass or hanging out in my garden) I always end up feeling more centered, calm, and connected to my physical reality.
3 Ways to connect with Earth energy 🌻🌲🐿
1. Spend time in nature. Connect with the trees, plants, and animals around you. Feel the Earth under your feet and allow her energy to revitalize you.
2. Use crystals and gemstones. Hold a crystal or gemstone in your hand to connect with its energy. Place crystals around your home or office to create a protective grid.
3. Bring a small plant, blossom or branch into your work space or home to connect you with the Earth's energy.
Six of Pentacles Inspiration: Supporting Abuse Survivors 💜
As a career crisis counselor and program director for women's domestic violence, sexual assault and reproductive health organizations, I'd like to invite you to consider giving your gift of Six of Pentacles inspired time and resources to local domestic violence shelter program near you.
Whether you're dropping a few new sets of sheets for the shelter, or making a commitment to answer the hotline, make sure that the organization is reputable and well known. www.servicenet.org and www.dvnonprofit.org are great sites to get started with, but my absolute favorite is www.thehotline.org. The Hotline provides confidential support to people living with domestic violence through a nationwide network of over 150 local programs offering direct services to survivor and their children, including:
1. Safety Planning: Create a personalized safety plan that incorporates ways to stay safe and increase your sense of security.

In our busy lives it's easy to be caught up in all the tedium and we have going on but being generous doesn't mean giving away everything you own--we can all start by saying thank you and being just a teeny bit nicer a teeny bit more often.
